Shipping policy
Shipping & Delivery Policy
This Shipping & Delivery Policy applies to all orders placed through the Nintendo Online Store South Africa (nintendo.co.za).
By placing an order through the nintendo.co.za, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below, together with our Terms & Conditions, Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
1. Delivery Service
Orders placed through the Website are delivered within South Africa using a third-party courier service appointed by Core Gaming Systems (Pty) Ltd (“Nintendo Online Store”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Delivery is made to the delivery address provided by you when placing your order.
We reserve the right to select the courier service used for a particular order and to change our courier partners from time to time.
2. Delivery Charges
Orders with a total value of R999 or more qualify for free standard delivery.
Orders below R999 are subject to a courier delivery fee. The applicable delivery fee will be displayed during the checkout process before you complete your purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, delivery charges are non-refundable where a return or cancellation is requested after the order has been dispatched, subject to your rights under applicable South African consumer legislation.
3. Estimated Delivery Times
We aim to process and dispatch orders as quickly as reasonably possible.
Our current estimated delivery timeframes are:
| Time of Order | Expected Dispatch | Johannesburg | Main Centres | Regional Areas | Remote Areas |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekday before 14:00 | Same day | 2 days | 3 days | 3–4 days | 4 days |
| Weekday after 14:00 | Following business day | 2 days | 3 days | 3–4 days | 4 days |
| Weekend | Following Monday | 2 days | 3 days | 4–5 days | 5 days |
The above timeframes are estimates only and may vary depending on the delivery address, courier operations, public holidays, peak trading periods and circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a specific delivery date or timeframe has been expressly agreed with you, we will endeavour to meet that commitment, subject to applicable law.
4. Order Processing
Orders are processed on business days.
Orders placed after 14:00 on a weekday, or over a weekend or public holiday, may only be processed on the next applicable business day.
During periods of high demand, including major product launches, promotions, Black Friday, festive periods and other peak trading periods, processing and delivery may take longer than usual.
Where we become aware of a significant delay affecting your order, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate this to you.
5. Delivery Address
You are responsible for ensuring that all delivery information supplied during checkout is complete and accurate.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Full name and surname;
- Physical delivery address;
- Unit, apartment or building details, where applicable;
- Suburb and postal code;
- Contact telephone number; and
- Any other information reasonably required by the courier to complete delivery.
We will not be responsible for delays, additional delivery attempts or failed deliveries resulting from incorrect, incomplete or outdated information supplied by you, subject always to your rights under applicable law.
6. Changes to Delivery Address
If you need to change your delivery address after placing an order, you must contact us as soon as possible at:
We will attempt to arrange the requested change with our courier partner. However, an address change cannot be guaranteed once an order has been processed or dispatched.
Please note that changing the address associated with your customer account does not automatically change the delivery address for an existing order.
For operational and security reasons, we are able to process one (1) delivery address change per order after the order has been placed. Multiple requests to change the delivery address may result in delays or delivery errors.
7. Receipt of Delivery
You, or a person authorised by you to receive the order at the delivery address, may be required to provide suitable identification or other information requested by the courier for verification purposes.
You are responsible for ensuring that someone is available at the delivery address to receive the order.
Where a delivery attempt is unsuccessful because no authorised recipient is available, the courier may make further delivery attempts or contact you to arrange delivery. Any additional charges arising from circumstances attributable to incorrect information or failure to accept delivery may be payable by you, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Inspection of Your Order
Upon delivery, we recommend that you inspect the packaging and products as soon as reasonably possible.
If your parcel appears to have been visibly damaged in transit, please notify the courier where possible and contact us promptly.
If an item is missing, damaged, incorrect or otherwise does not conform to your order, please contact us so that we can investigate and, where applicable, arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable consumer legislation.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable law.
9. Risk and Delivery
To the extent required by applicable South African law, goods remain at our risk until delivery has been accepted by you or by a person authorised to receive the goods on your behalf.
Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any consumer right or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or limited.
10. Delayed Deliveries and Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Although we work with our courier partners to provide reliable delivery, circumstances may arise that are outside our reasonable control and which may affect delivery times.
These may include, without limitation:
- Adverse weather conditions;
- Floods, fires or other natural disasters;
- Industrial action or strikes;
- Road closures or transport disruptions;
- Courier network disruptions;
- Public holidays;
- Government restrictions or regulatory requirements;
- Unforeseen logistical or operational disruptions; and
- Other events beyond our reasonable control.
Where such an event occurs, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the impact on your order and will endeavour to complete delivery as soon as reasonably practicable.
Nothing in this clause removes any rights you may have where a failure to deliver constitutes a breach of your rights under applicable consumer legislation.
11. Pre-Orders and Launch Products
Products available for pre-order may have a specified release or launch date.
Where an order contains a pre-ordered product, delivery will be scheduled with reference to the applicable product's release date, unless communicated otherwise.
Delivery on the exact release date cannot be guaranteed unless we have expressly stated otherwise.
If an order contains both products that are currently available and products that are available for pre-order, we may hold the order and dispatch the items together once the pre-ordered product becomes available.
If you require immediately available products sooner, we recommend placing separate orders.
Any special delivery arrangements or restrictions relating to a particular pre-order will be communicated on the relevant product page or at checkout.
12. Delivery to Remote or Regional Areas
Delivery times to regional and remote areas may be longer than delivery times to major centres.
The delivery estimates published on the Website are intended as a guide and may vary according to the courier's service coverage and the specific delivery address.
Additional restrictions may apply to certain remote locations where courier services are limited.
13. Failed or Unsuccessful Deliveries
If a delivery cannot be completed due to circumstances attributable to the customer, including an incorrect address, incomplete address, unavailable recipient or failure to respond to reasonable courier communications, the courier may return the parcel to us.
If a parcel is returned to us, we will contact you where reasonably possible to determine the appropriate next steps.
Any additional delivery costs arising from circumstances attributable to the customer may be charged to the customer, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Delivery Tracking
Where tracking information is available, it may be provided to you by email, SMS or other communication following dispatch of your order.
Tracking information is provided by the relevant courier and may take some time to become active after the order has been dispatched.
Any delivery estimates displayed by the courier are subject to the courier's own systems and operations.
15. Delivery Complaints
If you experience an issue with your delivery, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at:
Email: distributorsa@nintendo.co.za
When contacting us, please provide your order number and a description of the delivery issue so that we can investigate and assist you as efficiently as possible.
16. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy is intended to limit, exclude or waive any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or any other applicable South African legislation.
Where any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law, the applicable law will prevail.
17. Amendments to this Policy
We may update this Shipping & Delivery Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our delivery arrangements, courier services, operational processes or applicable legal requirements.
