System Requirements for Off-Device Purchases

Once you have purchased a digital game through the Nintendo website, your game will download to the system that is associated with your Nintendo Account or Nintendo Network ID.

To complete the automatic download, your system must meet the following requirements:

               


  • The Nintendo Switch console must be the primary console for the Nintendo Account that was used to make the purchase.
  • The Nintendo Switch must have an active internet connection.
  • The Nintendo Switch must have enough memory space available for the game.
  • The system must be turned on or in sleep mode when you redeem the game.

  • The Wii U must be associated with the Nintendo Network ID that was used to make the purchase.
  • The Wii U must have an active internet connection.
  • The Wii U must have enough memory space available for the game.
  • The system must be turned on or in standby mode when you redeem the game.

  • The Nintendo 3DS family system must be associated with the Nintendo Network ID that was used to make the purchase.
  • The Nintendo 3DS family system must have an active internet connection.
  • The Nintendo 3DS family system must be updated to menu version 9.0.0-20E or higher.
  • The Nintendo 3DS family system must have connected to Nintendo eShop at least once since the last system update.
  • The Nintendo 3DS family system must have enough memory space available for the game.
  • The Nintendo 3DS family system needs to be turned on or in sleep mode when you redeem the game.
