Buying directly from Nintendo eShop on the official Nintendo website
To be able to purchase download games on the official Nintendo website, you'll need to have a Nintendo Account, and you'll need to have visited Nintendo eShop on the device you wish to download on at least once. If you plan to download on a Wii U or a Nintendo 3DS family system, the Nintendo Account must also be linked to a Nintendo Network ID and your funds usable through the Nintendo Account must be merged with the funds tied to your Nintendo Network ID.
Prior to logging in with a Nintendo Account, the offers shown correspond to the country setting of the website. After logging in with a Nintendo Account, if the country setting of your Nintendo Account is different, the details of the offer may be adjusted (for example, the price will be displayed in the respective local currency).
- Some games may not be available for purchase. In particular, only games for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U may be offered. Games for Wii, Nintendo DS and other systems that were launched before 2011 will not be available.
- Certain games may not be available for purchase yet. They may become available for purchase at a later date.
- Certain games may be discontinued.
