How to Sign In to a Nintendo Account

Step-by-step instructions for signing in to your existing Nintendo Account.

Important: The ability to use a Nintendo Network ID to sign in to an existing Nintendo Account or to create a new Nintendo Account has been discontinued. We apologise for any inconvenience. If you are having difficulties signing in to your Nintendo Account and previously used a Nintendo Network ID, information is available on accessing your Nintendo Account.

Additional Information:

  • For help creating a new Nintendo Account, Click Here.
  • If you have forgotten your Nintendo Account sign in information, Click Here.
  • You can use a Facebook, Google, Twitter, or Apple account to sign in to your Nintendo Account by linking them together in your account settings.
    • When signing in to your Nintendo Account through a Nintendo mobile app on an iOS device (such as Mario Kart Tour on an iPhone), it is only possible to sign in using your Nintendo Account email address / sign-in ID and password. Signing in via other accounts is not possible.

What to Do:

  1. Go to https://accounts.nintendo.com.
  2. Enter the sign-in information that you used to create your Nintendo Account:
    • For Nintendo Account sign in - Enter the email address and password associated to your account, then click "Sign in."
      • Supervised Nintendo Accounts (including accounts for children aged 15 and under) sign in using their own login and password (not the parent / guardian account login and password).
    • For Twitter, Facebook, Apple or Google - Click the button for the appropriate service and enter your login information if needed.
      • If trying to sign in through a Nintendo mobile app on an iOS device (such as an iPhone or iPad), you will only be able to sign in using your Nintendo Account email address and password. If you have difficulty signing in this way, follow our steps on Unable to Sign In to Nintendo Account on iOS Device.
  3. If you have set up 2-step verification, you will be prompted to enter an additional code. Launch the Google Authenticator app on your smart device, enter the code it displays, and click “Authenticate.”
    • If you do not currently have access to the app, click “Enter backup codes” and use one of the backup codes you received when setting up the 2-step verification. (You should have copied and saved these in a safe place.)
