    How to Update Pokémon HOME

    In this article, you'll learn how to update Pokémon HOME.

    Note

    • This update must be applied in order to use the game’s online features.
    • Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
    • If the console is connected to the internet, the update will download and install automatically.

    On 14 December 2023, a new software update for Pokémon HOME became available for download. Please take a moment to download and install this update while your Nintendo Switch console is connected to the internet.

    Complete these steps

    1. Connect the Nintendo Switch console to the internet.
    2. Return to the HOME Menu and launch the game.
    3. The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
    4. Once the update is installed, the newest version number will be displayed on the title screen.

    Ver. 3.2.1 (Released 14 December 2023)

    • Added compatibility with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
    • Added the ability to view a Pokémon’s stats from different games it’s been in while Pokémon HOME is connected to a game. (Until now, the Change View function could only be used while Pokémon HOME was not connected to a game.)

    • Added compatibility with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

    The following issues have also been addressed:

    • There was a chance that the effects of items that change a Pokemon’s Ability were not reflected in other software. For more details about this issue, please check the “News” section in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME.

    • Support for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet has been added.
    • Added new Research Tasks for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
    • Added a function allowing players to trade Pokémon HOME points for LP (League Points).
    • Added a feature allowing players to change a Pokémon’s moves from the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME.
      • When bringing a Pokémon from Pokémon HOME into a linked game, players will now be able to change the moves it knows from among a list of moves it has learned up to that point (with some exclusions).
    • Added the ability to view Pokémon details by software title.
      • This feature allows players to view information about a Pokémon from games they’ve been in previously. In the Nintendo Switch version, this feature is accessible while viewing your Pokémon HOME boxes. In the mobile device version, this feature is accessible while viewing a Pokémon’s information. Only titles compatible with the Nintendo Switch version are supported.

    • Fixed an issue in which certain users encountered an error ("Error code: 10015") when selecting "Save changes and exit" from the Boxes menu while linking to a game. Users who encountered the "Error code: 10015" error while the issue was occurring (from 18 May 2022 to 27 May 2022) and were enrolled in the Premium Plan at the time will receive an extension to their Premium Plan.
      • Users who are eligible for the extension but are currently enrolled in the Basic Plan will be given 10 days of Premium Plan service starting from when they next sign in.
      • Users who are eligible for the extension and are currently enrolled in the Premium Plan will have 10 days of Premium Plan service added to their plan’s current expiry date. (Your plan’s original expiry date will continue to be displayed. The extension will be applied once the current plan expires.)

    Ver. 1.2.1 (Released 9 December 2020)

    • For some Pokémon that are transferred from Pokémon GO, we have added a process whereby moves that shouldn't originally be learned are forgotten and moves that should originally be learned are learned instead.
      • This processing has been added to handle the issue that was occurring between 11-16 November 2020 where Pokémon that were transferred from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME could learn moves that they were not originally supposed to learn. (The issue that was causing this problem has already been fixed.)
      • In order to perform this process, there is a need to link Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield and Pokémon HOME, where the target Pokémon exists, and to save the game data.
    • Fixed a number of issues so that users can enjoy services more comfortably.

    • The Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass #2 "The Crown Tundra" is now supported.

    Ver. 1.1.1 (Released 1 July 2020)

    • Fixed a bug about Pokémon not being registered to the Isle of Armor Pokédex when moving Pokémon from Pokémon HOME to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield.
    • After downloading the update data, connect Pokémon HOME to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield and save in Pokémon HOME to register the Pokémon that was not registered in Pokédex.
