Sephiroth joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC fighter!

The legendary SOLDIER, Sephiroth from the FINAL FANTASY VII series, is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC fighter on December 23rd. Check out the one-winged angel’s reveal trailer below:

Sephiroth will be available as part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol.2*, alongside Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft and three yet-to-be-revealed fighters.

In a livestreamed video presentation, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai revealed more info about the new fighter. Watch the video below to see Sephiroth in action:

Limited-time event: Sephiroth Challenge

Mr Sakurai also revealed the Sephiroth Challenge, a special limited-time event where players can battle against Sephiroth as a boss between now and until December 23rd, 03:00 (SA time). Players who are able to beat the challenge and own either the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 or Challenger Pack 8: Sephiroth will be able to unlock Sephiroth and his new stage Northern Cave before December 23rd.

Challenger Pack 8: Sephiroth will be released on December 23rd, both as part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Fighters Pass Vol. 2, or as an individual set. This set also includes the Northern Cave stage, a Classic Mode route, a DLC Spirit Board, and nine music tracks from the FINAL FANTASY VII series.

Fighters Pass Vol. 2 is available now and will grant access to Challenger Pack 8: Sephiroth from December 23rd, in addition to three yet-to-be-announced Challenger Packs, each including one new fighter, one stage and multiple music tracks. Look out for more info in the future!*

*All Challenger Packs from Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be distributed sequentially by 31/12/2021. The first Fighters Pass includes Challenger Packs 1 - 5, while Fighters Pass Vol. 2 includes Challenger Packs 6 - 11.
