  • Nintendo Switch Online smart device app launches today!

    21/07/2017

The Nintendo Switch Online smart device app is now available to download via the App Store and Google Play.

Designed to enhance your online experience for compatible games on Nintendo Switch, this app launches today alongside Splatoon 2, ahead of the official start of the Nintendo Switch Online service in 2018.

The app works with compatible games in different ways. In Splatoon 2, for example, it gives you access to SplatNet 2, where you can see your online battle stats, your gear, and much more. Find out more about SplatNet 2 here.

With the app, you can use your smart device to send online play invitations to players on your Nintendo Switch's friend list and voice chat with them. The app also lets you quickly send invites via social networks and messaging services. When you’re invited to a game, you’ll be notified right away via a push notification on your smart device.

Nintendo Switch Online is free until 2018 and allows you to play co-operative and competitive games online by signing in with your Nintendo Account. Find out more about it here.

A compatible smart device and internet connection required to use the Nintendo Switch Online app. Data charges may apply.

A Nintendo Account is required to use the service. The service cannot be used by account users who are under 13 years old. To set restrictions for the Nintendo Switch Online app, please refer to your smart device settings. The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app does not include settings for this app.
