The latest game in the Mario Party series was announced at E3*: Mario Party Star Rush for Nintendo 3DS family systems!

*E3: Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, is an exhibition with a focus on video game related topics, held annually in Los Angeles, USA. This year’s E3 was held from 14th June to 16th June 2016. To see more from this year's E3, please visit http://e3.nintendo.com.

Waiting for your turn? Not this time!

In the Mario Party series up to now, each player took it in turns to roll the dice and move forward. However, in this game up to four players can roll the dice simultaneously and move on the map at the same time. No wait time means everyone can enjoy the game at a quick pace.

    Minigames with allies?!

Everybody plays as a differently coloured Toad and moves towards the board map’s boss. When a player reaches the boss, a minigame starts. The player that gets to the boss first starts the minigame, and other players can join in the same minigame partway through.

However, this doesn’t mean the first player to arrive at the boss has an advantage…

Around the board map you’ll find some familiar characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, who can be recruited as allies. If you play minigames after teaming up with characters like Mario or Peach, they’ll compete in the minigame as well – and at the end, your ally’s points will be added to your own total!

Players can test out different strategies. You could aim straight for the boss and earn points in minigames without the help of allies, or search the board map to get help from other characters and have them earn points alongside you.

    Lots of new minigames!

Of course, there are plenty of new minigames in this game for everyone to enjoy!
