  • In shops and on Nintendo eShop now: Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard

    22/04/2016

The Star Fox squadron makes their triumphant return with two new titles out today for Wii U. Be a pilot, be a hero, be a Star Fox in the epic 3D shooter Star Fox Zero, out now only on Wii U. As the legendary Fox McCloud, lead the Star Fox crew into thrilling space battles to protect the galaxy from the evil Andross!

With chaos spreading through the Lylat System, only Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy have what it takes to lead the fight against Andross’ invading forces. From the depths of space to incredible worlds, you’ll need to face threats on all fronts and take on huge bosses if you want to succeed. When it comes time to engage the enemy, aim with precision using motion controls and utilise different views on the Wii U GamePad screen and TV screen to get the full picture of the action happening all around you!

As you fight from one planet to the next, triumph over terrain and tyranny with a range of vehicles, including the classic Landmaster, the new drone-like Gyrowing and new vehicle transformations too! If aerial combat in your Arwing just isn’t cutting it, transform your vehicle into a powerful bipedal robot called the Walker to take out enemies at ground level. You can also use the Fox and Falco amiibo* to unlock new Arwing forms for your squadron!

Discover secrets, branching paths through levels and alternative bosses by revisiting stages – keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to set a new flight path at all times. Prepare yourself for take-off at our official Star Fox Zero website where you can also watch Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins, the first-ever animated short based on the Star Fox games and characters.

As the war rages on in Star Fox Zero, a different kind of battle is taking place in Star Fox Guard, out now on Wii U. Become the defence specialist for Grippy Toad’s lucrative mining business and ward off waves of troublemaking robots with the help of his nephew Slippy Toad’s latest invention, the AegisCam!

Peer through 12 armed security cameras displayed on the TV screen and, when you spot an invader, switch cameras by tapping the GamePad touch screen and blast those troublemakers away! Family and friends can join in the fun too by helping you to spot intruders – the more eyes on your feeds the better!

With each successful mission, collect precious metals and unlock new weapons to construct the ultimate fortress against those relentless robots! If things get frantic, you can even use the Fox and Falco amiibo* to call in a little help from the Star Fox squadron.

With a Story Mode and challenging Extra Missions, there’s plenty for skilled tacticians to get stuck into. You can also experiment with unique online** game modes where players can create their own enemy patterns, then upload them to the internet for others to face. Spy out more info by pointing your cameras at our official Star Fox Guard website.

In addition to solus versions of both titles, the Star Fox Zero First Print Edition is available today in limited quantities*** and includes a Star Fox Zero Game Disc, Star Fox Guard Game Disc and a Premium SteelBook® software case. Star Fox Guard is usually only available as a download version from Nintendo eShop, which means the First Print Edition is the only way to get Star Fox Guard on Game Disc!

Whether it’s soaring among the stars in your Arwing or defending a mining facility from an onslaught of adorable automaton troublemakers, there’s a variety of unique gaming experiences to enjoy in Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard, out now exclusively on Wii U.

Star Fox Zero is available from shops and as a downloadable version from Nintendo eShop on Wii U. Star Fox Guard is available to download from Nintendo eShop on Wii U, and is also available as a packaged download code at retail, or on a Game Disc as part of Star Fox Zero's First Print Edition.
