Using the Disc Channel, you can play your Wii and Nintendo GameCube Game Discs.

Accessing and using the Disc Channel:

1. Insert a game disc into the Game Disc slot on the front of the console. The Wii console will turn ON automatically. Depending on how the system is placed (see Place the Wii Console for more information), the direction the disc needs to be facing will vary:
   • If the Wii console is placed vertically on its side, the disc label will need to face to the right.
   • If the console is placed horizontally (flat), the disc label will need to face upwards.
2. Select the Disc Channel on the Wii Menu. (Is the system not responding to your Wii Remote? It's possible that you need to sync up the Wii Remote.)
   
   
   
   
3. Select Start on the game's Channel Preview screen to begin the game.
   
   
   
   
4. When finished playing, press the Eject Button to remove the Game Disc.

The Photo Channel lets you use your Wii console to edit, share, display, and have fun with photos you load onto your Wii through an SD card.

Accessing the Photo Channel

1. Select the Photo Channel on the Wii Menu.
   
   
   
   
2. Select the source of the photos you'd like to use.
   
   
3. To view images stored on an SD Card, select Digital Camera / Cell Phone.
4. To view images stored on the Wii Message Board, select Wii Message Board.

After selecting your photo source, you will be taken to a screen that shows a list of all the files available. To select a photo, move the cursor over it with the Wii Remote and press the A Button. Below is a list of the features available when viewing photos.

A: Zoom -
Select this button to decrease the size of photo previews
B: Zoom +
Select this button to increase the size of photo previews
C: Back
Clicking on this button will back the screen to the main Photo Channel menu.
D: Slide Show
View your photos in a slide show that automatically switches to another image after a few seconds
E:
Scroll up and down through the available photo previews

• Your Photos will be displayed in the order they were taken, using data that your camera embedded at the time the picture was taken. If this data is not available with the photo, the date that you updated the photo in the Photo Channel will be used.
• Videos will appear as the first frame from the file, with a film icon in one corner.
• If the photo or video is in a format that is not supported by the Photo Channel, it will appear as a question mark icon. (See supported file formats)
• If you have a large number of photos, or if they are very large in size, it may take a moment to open them all.
• The Photo Channel can display a maximum of approximately 1,000 photos. If your SD Card has more than 1,000 photos, remove the card from the Wii console and remove or reorganize your photos in your camera, cell phone, or computer.

Photos and video displayed as a "?" in the preview mode are not compatible with the Wii console and cannot be viewed.

Use the Wii Remote to move the cursor over the photo you want to view, and press the A Button. A new on-screen menu will appear with additional choices.

Videos will appear with the your normal photos, but will be indicated by a film icon in one corner (the first frame of the video is what will be used for the thumbnail preview). Select the video using the Wii Remote as you would a photo to view the video.

• Hold down the 1 Button on the Wii Remote to rewind the video.
• Hold down the 2 Button on the Wii Remote to advance the video.
• Tap these buttons to rewind or advance the video by smaller increments.

While viewing a photo in full screen mode, use the Wii Remote to move the cursor over the "Slide Show" button along the bottom of the screen to activate the slide show. The following options will appear.

The "Fun!" option of the Photo Channel lets you work with your photos with easy-to-use and entertaining tools. You can draw on pictures, make an interactive puzzle, and much more. Please note that changes made to photos stored on an SD Card will not be saved on the SD Card. You can save images modified in Doodle and Mood to your Wii Message board.
Look below for information on each "Fun!" mode.

• Brighten: This option brightens the photo. Click it repeatedly to brighten the photo even more.
• Black and White: Converts color photos to black and white.
• Zap!: Give the photo a "negative" affect.
• Hard-boiled: Convert the photo to a stark black and white. Click this option repeatedly to increase the affect.

NOTE: Move the Wii Remote closer to the TV to increase the size of the sketch pen or stamp. Move the Wii Remote away from the TV to reduce the size of the pen or stamp. Twist the Wii Remote to rotate the pen or stamp.

This option divides and mixes your picture into different pieces. Please note that you must first complete the puzzle using six pieces before you have the option to make the puzzle more difficult with more pieces.

1. Use the Wii Remote to move the cursor over the puzzle piece you wish to move.
2. Grab the piece with the A Button.
3. Move the piece over the space you wish to drop it, and press the A Button to let go.
4. Repeat until the puzzle is completed.

In order to save a photo off of an SD Card onto the Wii console, you must post it to the Message Board. This will allow you to send it in a Message.
In addition, changes you make to your photos or videos in Mood and Doodle modes can only be saved in the Wii Message Board, which saves them to the Wii console's internal memory. You cannot save over photos or videos stored onto an SD Card.

1. When you display the photo or video in full screen mode, select "Post."
   
   
   
   
2. Select "Post to Message Board" to save your Mood and Doodle changes to the Message Board. You can now send the photo in a message if you like (how to).

The Mii Channel lets you put yourself in the game by creating customisable characters that fit your personality. You can then use those characters in compatible games, attach them to messages in the Message Board, and even save them to your Wii Remote to take to a friend's house. Please note that only one Wii Remote can be used while in the Mii Channel.

What are Miis for?

Miis are customisable player characters that you and your friends can create. Here are just some of the fun things you can do with Miis:

• You can choose one of your Miis to be "you" in Mii-compatible games.
• You can store up to 100 Miis in your Mii Plaza
• You can carry Miis in your Wii Remote to exchange them with Miis in friends' Wii consoles. Yours will then appear in their games, and vice versa!
• You can exchange Miis with friends around the world via WiiConnect24 and Mii Parade.

3. Select the gender you would like the Mii to be (Male or Female).
   
   
   
   
4. Change your Mii's face shape, hair colour, and skin tone.
   
   
   
   
5. Use the Wii Remote to select the icons along the top to fine-tune your Mii's face by changing the eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth. You can also add glasses and other accessories.
   
   
   
   
6. Use the body icon second from the left to adjust the Wii's body proportions with the sliders.
   
   
   
   
7. When finished, select "Quit" then "Save and Quit." (If you want to erase your Mii, you can do so from the Mii Plaza).
8. Use the Wii Remote to move the cursor over the letters and numbers to enter a nickname for your Mii.
9. When finished entering a Nickname, select "Ok." You will be then asked if you would like to allow your Mii to mingle. When mingle is on, Miis will travel to other Wii consoles and join other people's parades. No personal information is provided to other Wii owners.

4. Use the icons along the top of the screen to change the Wii's characteristics.
   
   
   
   
5. When finished, select "Quit". If you wish to save the Mii, select "Save and Quit". Use the Wii Remote to move the cursor over the letters and numbers to enter a nickname for your Mii.

2. If you have already created a Mii, you will enter the Mii Plaza. Below are the different options of the Mii Plaza.
   
   

• Hold down the B Button and move the cursor to move the screen view.
• Press the + or - Buttons to zoom in and out on the screen.
• Select a Mii to display your Mii's label and its Favorite status
• Grab and move a Mii by selecting it with the Wii Remote and holding down the A and B Buttons. You can then drop it into different menu options by dragging it into the corresponding icon, then releasing the buttons.
• Important Note: A Mii that's dragged onto the Erase icon can't be recovered.

You can store a Mii in your Wii Remote, letting you bring your Miis to a friend's house for use with their Mii-compatible games or to be used in their Mii Parade. You can also use your Wii Remote to grab Miis from your friend's Wii system and later add it to your Mii Parade or your Mii-compatible games.

1. Select the Wii Remote icon from the Mii Plaza.
   
   
   
   
2. Select the Wii Remote you would like to store the Mii to (to add an additional Wii Remote, press "1" and "2" at the same time).
   
   
   
   
3. Place the cursor over the Mii you wish to store, and grab it by pressing B and A at the same time. Drag the Mii over to an available slot along the top of the screen.
   
   
   
   
4. Select "Save and Quit" when finished.

Visiting friends' Miis will gather in your Wii console's Mii Parade. You can then port those Miis over to your Mii Plaza, allowing you to use them in Mii-compatible games. In order for a friend's Mii to make it's way to your Mii Parade, the following requirements must be met:

• The individual Mii's profile is set to "Mingle".
• There are two ways for Miis to travel to other Wii consoles:
  • Store your Mii to a Wii Remote and bring it over to a friend's house and use it on their Wii console.
  • With WiiConnect24 enabled and your Wii Console connected to the internet, Miis will transfer to a friend's Wii console if you have both registered each other's Wii console in your own Address Book (how to).
    

To send a Mii from the Mii Parade to the Mii Plaza:

1. Select the Mii Parade icon to enter the Mii Parade.
   
   
   
   
2. Place the hand over the Mii you would like to transfer, and then press and hold the A Button and B Button to grab the desired Mii.
   
   
   
   
3. Drop the Mii on the "Send Mii to Mii Plaza" icon.
