Not everything in space is round. In Geometry Wars: Galaxies for Wii,
enemies come in all shapes and sizes. But no matter what shape they are,
you can blast them to bits and send them sailing off into the depths of
space.
Based on the arcade shooter Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, Geometry Wars:
Galaxies is an addictive, fast-paced romp through the universe. You’ll
make stops at more than 60 planets to battle some of the most dangerous
polygons you’ll ever meet. They don’t shoot at your ship. They’re on a
suicide mission to break you into a million pieces.
In this hyper-speed homage to the arcade classic Asteroids, you’ll blast
your way through many different battle grids, blasting relentless waves
of enemies as you move your ship with the Nunchuk and shoot by pointing
the Wii Remote at the screen and firing. You’ll also be able to use the
Classic Controller, if that’s your preference.
New to the Geometry Wars franchise in Galaxies is the Battle Drone. This
small craft is your sidekick, helping you shoot down enemies according
to the way it’s customised. Through your efforts, you’ll collect Geom
currency and use that to purchase upgrades for your Battle Drone. With
plenty of different behaviours possible, players can develop the
characteristics and personality of the Battle Drone and its duty in
aiding against the battle-torn and increasingly aggressive galaxies.
Up to this point, titles in the Geometry Wars franchise have been
single-player experiences. Geometry Wars: Galaxies lets you work with
another player to eradicate the most aggressive enemies in the galaxy.
Plus, the game features Wii-to-DS connectivity. You can download
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved to any DS via DS Download Play, and keep it
in the DS' system memory as long as you don't turn off your handheld!
• The single-player mode expands the Geometry Wars universe with an
original, solar-systems-based campaign with more than 60 planets and new
and dynamic battle-grids. The grids will have different shapes and some
bring different gravitational forces into play.
• Use the WiiConnect24 feature to upload your high scores to the
leaderboard and compare your Geometry Wars: Galaxies scores with players
around the world.
• Unlock new content when you wirelessly link your DS and Wii versions.
