Alice in Wonderland

System: Nintendo DS Release date: 05/03/2010

You're late - for a very important date with thrilling adventure! Inspired by the Tim Burton film and weaving a new tale from the background of Lewis Carroll's beloved classics, Disney brings Alice in Wonderland to the Nintendo DS in a fulmination of fanciful fun. Take a deep breath before you tumble head over heels down the rabbit hole to the world of Underland, an extraordinary place corpulent with capricious characters and laden with lugubrious but infectious whimsy.

Accompany the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Caterpillar on a tremendous journey through the murky countryside of Underland in search of the Vorpal Sword; a weapon of great power ideally suited to the purpose of defeating the Red Queen and her fearsome pet beast the Jabberwocky. On your travels you'll need to protect and guide Alice while being contested at every turn by the Queen's foot-soldiers or challenged by a cornucopia of brain-teasing puzzles.

Thankfully each character in your band of heroes has a special power at their disposal to help you fight the good fight and figure out solutions: the White Rabbit, as well as being a dapper chap who's bringing pocket watches back into fashion, has the ability to manipulate the flow of time; whereas the Caterpillar can reverse the direction of gravity. The Cheshire Cat can make objects vanish or appear (good job he's on your side or he'd be quite the hindrance) and the Mad Hatter can bring about a perspective change to clear a new path when obstacles seem too great to overcome.

You'll face the task of recovering and reassembling the Oraculum – the “calendrical compendium” of all events in Underland.  Each level of the game is represented by a piece of the Oraculum, and like all good jigsaws, there’s more than one way to fit certain pieces together! You can freely experiment with the pieces, thus creating different connections between the levels on the map. Building your route through Underland as you see fit, you could create your own shortcuts or discover hidden secrets!

You may spot treasure chests containing special unlockable items scattered throughout the game. These can only be accessed when you're playing the game on a Nintendo DSi system! You’ll have to quickly hunt for real-world objects of the right colour, and use the Nintendo DSi cameras to match the item with the colour on the screen.  If you get it right – the chest opens and the treasure is yours!

Throughout the journey you'll be able to upgrade your team's abilities to make your attacks swifter and more potent in order to more effectively defend dear Alice. Curiouser and curiouser adventures await…

  • Brought to life in gorgeous line drawn 'cartoon style' graphics, Alice in Wonderland on the Nintendo DS is a feast for the eyes.
  • Guide a team of vibrant, beloved characters through perilous landscapes, utilise their unique abilities to solve puzzles and fight enemies. Protect Alice from harm in this fantastical quest to free Underland from the clutches of the Red Queen.
  • New map areas take the form of jigsaw pieces which can be assembled in different configurations to find hidden areas or make new routes through Underland.
  • If you're playing the game on a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL you can use the cameras to unlock new content.
